Recent events have demonstrated that antecedent moisture conditions can be the difference between a 1-in-100-year and a 1-in-1,000-year flood event. This session will focus on the challenges with and importance of incorporating antecedent conditions in your modeling and decision frameworks. By analyzing how different antecedent conditions impact hazard and event losses on a single hurricane event, you’ll see how robust simulation-based models are critical for managing flood risk.
