Managing Principal, Fermat Capital Management
A pioneer of alternative risk transfer, John manages approximately $5 billion in catastrophe risk bonds. Prior to forming Fermat Capital in 2001, John was a state-appointed advisor to the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund. John’s work was featured in a cover article for The New York Times Magazine, “In Nature’s Casino” by Michael Lewis.
John has testified as an expert witness on risk financing before the U.S. Congress and was appointed to the Advisory Committee on Risk-Sharing Mechanisms (ACRSM) by the U.S. Treasury Department. He received a B.S. in physics from M.I.T and a Ph.D. in biophysics from Harvard University.
