Fermat Capital Selects RMS Miu Platform to Manage Insurance-Linked Securities

Calif – August 18, 2009 – Risk Management Solutions (RMS) today announced the licensing of its Miu portfolio management platform to Fermat Capital, one of the world’s largest investors in insurance-linked securities (ILS), with $2 billion of ILS under management. The RMS Miu Platform allows investors to understand the expected loss as well as probabilities of various levels of loss for portfolios of ILS. In addition, Miu enables investors to analyze the impact of different catastrophic scenarios on their portfolios.

In the past, portfolio managers needed to master the complexities of a catastrophe model to understand the risk added by ILS. Now, Miu users get ‘one click’ access to risk analyses for every live catastrophe bond in the market. This is made possible by RMS’ team of ILS analysts in New Jersey, London, and India, who characterize each new bond as soon they receive the offering materials. Portfolio managers can spend more time deriving insights from the risk analyses, and less time managing catastrophe models.
