RMS Awarded "Service Provider of the Year" in 2010 Worldwide Reinsurance Awards

We are proud to announce that RMS has been named "Professional Service Provider of the Year" in the 2010 Worldwide Reinsurance Awards, published by The Review magazine. The award was presented to the company that has made the most constructive contribution to the efficient and effective financing of insurable risk during the past year, as judged by an independent panel of eight industry leaders.

RMS was praised for its work in the capital markets, including the 'excellent level of support and technical knowledge' and a number of innovative projects undertaken over the past year. In 2009 RMS seized the opportunity to streamline its practices to ensure clients receive the best possible products, services and value, gathering feedback from insurers, investors, banks and brokers to gain a deeper understanding of their needs.

Of the total volume of bonds issued in the fourth quarter of 2009, RMS conducted the expert risk analysis for over 70 percent, most of which were upsized or oversubscribed. Most notable was the innovative Vita Capital IV Ltd. bond, providing Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd. with coverage against higher-than-expected mortality rates in the U.S. and U.K.

Last year also represented a milestone of success for RMS' insurance-linked securities portfolio management platform, Miu, which allows investors to rapidly analyze each bond in the market and determine its potential impacts. Since its release in mid-2008, Miu has gained substantial market share and around two-thirds of ILS funds that license a third-party model now use Miu.
