RMS Reaches Milestone of 100 Certified Catastrophe Risk Analysts (CCRA™)

Winter Certification Programs Now Open

Newark, CA – January 22, 2008 – Risk Management Solutions (RMS), the world's leading provider of products and services for catastrophe risk management, today announced that over 100 professionals have now earned their Certified Catastrophe Risk Analyst (CCRA™) designation through the company’s popular educational offerings: the Catastrophe Analysis Training (CAT) Program and the CCRA Exam Prep Program.

“The education programs offered by RMS have helped our catastrophe modeling analysts gain a deeper understanding of issues like data quality, uncertainty, and the appropriate use of modeled loss results,” said Michael Schrah, senior vice president – head of global risk management, Endurance Specialty. “At this point, cat modeling is such an integral part of the risk management process in our company that it is invaluable to have well-qualified individuals on staff. CCRA has become synonymous with high-caliber analysts, and we will certainly continue to use the programs to train our team and earn the recognition offered by the CCRA credential.”

Launched in 2005, the RMS Catastrophe Analysis Training (CAT) program is the core educational offering that prepares participants for the extensive CCRA exam. The 12-course program offers a mix of e-learning and classroom-style learning on the entire catastrophe risk modeling process, and encourages critical thinking through a rigorous curriculum of lectures, hands-on examples, and discussion groups. As an alternative, highly experienced catastrophe risk professionals may enroll in the CCRA Exam Prep program, a comprehensive review course that allows participants to prepare for the exam without attending the full CAT program.

“Our goal with the CCRA designation is to set a new standard for formalized catastrophe risk modeling education, and the industry response shows that we are succeeding,” commented Cheryl TeHennepe, vice president at RMS. “Client feedback has been extremely positive, particularly on the quality and depth of teaching, which validates our approach to the subject matter, and confirms that we are helping to create a more insightful cat modeling community. We are proud to offer industry-recognized credentials to the many highly skilled individuals within the catastrophe risk modeling profession.”

Registration for the Winter 2008 CAT Program is open through January 31, and registration for the first CCRA Exam Prep session of 2008 will open in mid-February.
