RMS Co-founder Haresh Shah Named One of the Top Seismic Engineers of the 20th Century

Earthquake engineering pioneer Dr. Haresh Shah, Obayashi Professor (Emeritus) at Stanford University, is among a select group of top engineers honored for their exceptional leadership in advancing the safety of buildings and structures. Named among the "Top Seismic Engineers of the 20th Century" by the The Applied Technology Council (ATC) Council, Dr. Shah was recognized for outstanding service and contributions to the mitigation of damage and casualties due to earthquakes and other disasters.

ATC, a non-profit corporation established in 1973 through the Structural Engineers Association of California, advances engineering applications for hazard mitigation. It is guided by a Board of Directors made up of representatives appointed by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations, the Structural Engineers Association of California, and the Western Council of Structural Engineers Associations.
