We are the technical leader in our market, with over 100 engineers and scientists devoted to the development of risk models. Of this number, approximately fifty percent hold advanced degrees in their field of expertise.

Our specialists track research among leading experts and academic institutions worldwide, and supplement this knowledge with internal R&D to ensure that our models provide the most complete and accurate quantification of risk. To ensure that clients obtain maximum benefit from our modeling solutions, we maintain a network of approximately 60 client service representatives in offices worldwide.

Hemant H. Shah is co-founder, president, and CEO of RMS. He serves on various Boards including the University Corporation of Atmospheric Research (UCAR) and St. John's School of Risk Management and Actuarial Science and is a director of the RAND Center for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering Management from Stanford University.

Dr. Weimin Dong is a co-founder and chief risk officer at RMS. He has over 30 years of industrial, teaching, and research experience in seismic hazard evaluation, and insurance and financial risk assessment. Dr. Dong is the chief architect of RMS' catastrophe models, and has overseen the company's R&D efforts since its inception. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and his Master of Engineering Mechanics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Dr. Robert Muir-Wood is chief research officer at RMS. Dr. Muir-Wood has more than 20 years of experience developing probabilistic catastrophe models and has collaborated with the insurance industry over the past 15 years to improve catastrophe analysis accuracy. Dr. Muir-Wood received his degrees and was an Earth Sciences Research Fellow at Cambridge University.

Dr. Gordon Woo is a catastrophe risk consultant for RMS and chief architect for the RMS Terrorism Model. He has extensive experience on quantitative risk assessment at nuclear, chemical, petroleum, and military installations. Dr. Woo graduated in Mathematics at the top of his class at Cambridge University and completed his PhD at MIT as a Kennedy Scholar.

Dr. Andrew Coburn is VP of catastrophe research and director of terrorism research. He has contributed to the R&D of modeling for terrorism, human casualty, cyber-risk, and earthquake risk. Dr. Coburn completed his PhD at Cambridge University and has studied many catastrophes, developing techniques for their analysis, modeling, and quantification.

Dr. Auguste Boissonnade is VP of product development for RMS and was the original architect of the RMS hurricane models. He has more than 20 years experience in structural analysis and design, natural hazard modeling, and risk assessment for the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Asia. Dr. Boissonnade has a B.S. from Ecole Superieure des Travaux Publics and a PhD from Stanford University, where he has been a Consulting Professor.

Rick Anderson is the chief actuary at RMS. He is responsible for the R&D of the financial module and modeling of uncertainty in the catastrophe models and R&D of enterprise-wide risk modeling for property/casualty insurance companies. Mr. Anderson earned his B.S. in Mathematics from Illinois State University, is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
